OUR MISSION
The Horace W. Porter PTO is a nonprofit parent teacher organization whose mission is to establish a close relationship between home, school and the community to create a rich experience for children and promote parent involvement in the Horace W. Porter community.
Horace W. Porter School's PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is all about helping our parents and teachers work together to help our kids achieve greater things. Our goal is to enrich each child's school experience by giving them a sense of community by providing opportunities for families to know and help one another. We support our teachers by supplying much needed funds for items they would like for their classrooms that just aren't available to them in the school budget. By working together, we hope each child/parent/teacher will feel respected, valued and confident in the knowledge that they are truly part of a team that is striving to make each child's educational experience the best it can be.
We support this goal by organizing parent-led activities that foster children's education, family time, community building, parent education, and fundraising. We hope that by visiting this site, you will see what your time and money are accomplishing and join us in helping us to do even greater things.
If you would like to help us in our efforts to reach our goals by making a donation, voluneering your time or if you'd like to share your ideas with us, we'd love to hear from you. You may contact us directly through email or by attending one of our monthly meetings that are held in the school cafetorium. These meeting dates are posted in the school calendar and also here on our website. You are welcome to join us anytime.
